Last weekend, The Little Teapot reached a truly special milestone—our beautiful building turned 100! We celebrated in true 1920s style, and what a celebration it was.
Guests embraced the theme with flair—flappers, dappers, gangsters, pearls, pinstripes, and feathered headbands filled the café and garden. The effort everyone made was incredible, and we gave up trying to pick a “best dressed”—everyone looked absolutely fabulous!
The back garden was transformed back in a 1920s theme and was buzzing with laughter, music, and the sound of tapping shoes during a lively Charleston dance competition that had the whole crowd clapping and cheering.
A special thank you goes to the Alloura Waters Band, whose performance brought an extra spark to the day. Their music created the perfect atmosphere—joyful, vibrant, and full of heart. We’re so grateful to them for sharing their talents and helping us bring the Roaring Twenties to life!
Another highlight of the weekend was the historic cruise aboard the beautifully restored Codock 11. Guests enjoyed a peaceful hour on the water, prior to this a morning tea at The Teapot and a fascinating talk by local historian Peter Rea, who brought Davistown’s rich past to life in such an engaging way.
For me, this celebration was about so much more than a birthday. It was a tribute to Keith’s legacy—his love, his ideas, and his dream of creating something meaningful in our community. I know he would have been so proud.
I’m deeply thankful to my daughters, Lauren and Katherine, for their tireless work and unwavering encouragement. Their support means the world to me. A very special thanks also goes to Rose—not only my granddaughter but a kind and caring young lady who has grown up loving The Teapot and our wonderful customers just as much as I do. Her help and enthusiasm over the weekend were a true blessing.
And a heartfelt thank you to my grandson Henry, who flew up from Canberra to be part of the celebration—having him here made the day even more meaningful.
To everyone who joined us, dressed up, danced, cruised, clapped, or simply shared a cuppa and a smile—thank you. Your presence turned a celebration into a memory we’ll all treasure.
Here’s to the next hundred years of community, connection, and many more cups of tea at The Little Teapot.
With love and gratitude,
Helen and The Little Teapot Team
